Power Operations Manager (delivering on Renewables and Electrical Packages)

In partnership with our client who are an Engineering and Utilities Services company, which has established an enviable reputation for the provision of Design, Build and Maintenance Services to Telecoms Networks in Ireland over the last ten years.
Our client is now broadening its market offering to the Power and Renewables Sectors. This will provide a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to get involved across a wide range of activities from the Strategic Aspects right through to the Day-To-Day Management of Projects and Teams.
With an established Shared Service Operation already in place, covering finance, HR, IT, commercial etc, the new operating division will be fully supported from day one.
Reporting to the will be instrumental in achieving its growth targets over the coming years.
Responsibilities and Duties
The specific responsibilities and duties of the role, outlined below, are intended as indicative (and not exhaustive):-
Lead and Manage Electricity Infrastructure Delivery Projects from End To End including Tendering, Budgets, Schedules, and Resource Planning. This will involve ownership of the programme for the duration of the process, including during construction.
Foster a culture of safety first, ensuring all safety standards, measures, training and audit are at an industry leading level.
Build service capability to meet the Power Strategy – ensuring that operational management and fields crews are hired, trained, on-boarded and deployed as required.
Oversee hiring for operations within the
Manage and Co-Ordinate the appropriate teams across Design, Workflow, Health & Safety, Quality and Environment and On-Site Contractors. This will include Performance Management of your team and of contractors.
Leverage and grow your own network of contractors, work with same to build and grow their capacity to Manage Future Workload and Lead on Negotiating/Contracting with them for various Work Packages.
Using your networking and influencing skills develop their brand as a market leading Power Services provider. Placing Customer Care at the very centre of the company’s values, ensure that customer’s requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
In collaboration with the company Senior Management Team, Support Effective Sales, Marketing and Business Development activities for the Power division.
Successfully promote, develop and enhance the positive company culture and values.
Skills and Qualifications
Experienced in Electricity Infrastructure Delivery with Five Years General Management experience gained in Service and/or Projects Delivery.
Knowledge of HV Safety Rules is essential.
Proven ability to lead teams in a growing organisation and to achieve growth targets.
Confident in representing the company to the industry.
Numerate, Strong Financial skills, Proficient in IT including MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Strong Performance and Cost Management skills .
Experience Managing Client Relationships from a Pre Works Stage to Project Completion.
Demonstrate the ability to Build Strong working relationships with Project Team & Stakeholders.
Previous experience with working with Electricity Supply Board (ESB) Networks and/or Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) Networks (owners and operators of the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Network across the island of Ireland is desirable.
The ideal candidate with be a strong Operation Manager, to support Bids, Pricing, ID Subcontractors, Project Management Delivery), with experience in delivering on Solar/Wind Electrical Packages.
