Senior Project Manager (Renewable and Flexible Technology/ Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Projects) – Commercial
Location: Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland (Hybrid working model with blended working from home and on-site where applicable)

Our client is currently looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Commercial team in Newbridge. Providing Senior Technical and Project Management expertise to the development of key Renewable and Flexible Technology Projects in their development pipeline.
This role will provide Technical and Commercial Support in the application of technologies in their Energy Park Developments.
Focusing on the Commercial Development Phase of the projects, fostering partnerships, early development activity, securing a route to market and driving the projects to financial close.
The Role:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
Understand current and Future Electricity Market Arrangements and identify the opportunities different market approaches may present. Keep up to date with relevant Regulatory and Technical Policy Publications.
Execute Project Management Plans to ensure all deliverables are achieved on time and within the scopes and budgets. Develop Project Delivery Strategies appropriate to the projects and joint venture partners needs to best ensure successful project outcomes.
Liaise and co-ordinate key stakeholders within the company and across external service providers, to deliver all required Planning, Licencing and Permit Approvals.
Ensure Preliminary and any Detailed Design Work, required for approvals process, complies with applicable design standards, Health and Safety Regulations, Environmental Policies and all other applicable polices and statutory requirements
Manage the procurement of all goods and services required by the project in accordance with company policy and Irish and EU legislative requirements.
Actively engage with key suppliers to negotiate project contracts on favourable commercial terms which are in line with marketplace norms.
Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
Honours Degree in Engineering (NFǪ 8), recognised Project Management qualification an advantage.
Minimum 7-10 years at Project Manager or equivalent level.
Strong technical and commercial knowledge of the Electricity Grid and Market and how flexible technologies operate and provide a service to the grid.
Knowledge and experience in the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Synchronous Condensers or Thermal Assets such as Open-Cycle or Combined Cycle Gas Turbines, Contestable works and Substations is an advantage for this role.
Strong Project Management, Contract Negotiation and Report Writing and Communications skills.
