Location: Ballymount · Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland (Office Based Role)

They specialise in providing Turnkey Data Centre Solutions, providing services from design, through to construction across the full range of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical Services as well as commissioning.

They are currently Constructing Multiple Turnkey Data Centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

Managed by the Estimation & Proposals Lead, the Estimating Department is divided into three disciplines – Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA); Mechanical; and Electrical.

Reporting to: Estimation & Proposals Lead.

Responsibilities

Preparing Estimates & Pre-Construction Budgets based on drawings and specifications

Manage Quantities and prepare a Pricing Document

Obtain pricing for elements of the building from Irish and European Subcontractors and suppliers

Utilise spreadsheets to compare Subcontractor’s Bids and Quotations, and to demonstrate reasoning for selecting subcontractors

Assist in the maintaining of the Cost Data Base & Regional Metrics

Present the estimate to the Estimating Director, and to the Board of Directors, where and when required

Build Relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc)

Keep informed with developments in the construction industry & industry bodies

Participate in the development of procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control in the documents produced by the Pre-Con, Estimating & Proposals Department

Co-operate with the application of quality assurance procedures

Engage in personal development planning and performance review procedures, as required

Perform other such duties appropriate to the position as may be assigned from time to time by the senior management

Ensure confidentiality is maintained with respect to all information obtained during employment, particularly with respect to information provided by, or obtained from, others

Understand the requirement to achieve a high level of quality in the production of Subcontractor Tender Documentation and their Tender Submission

Understand the company’s high standards of safety

Able to identify potential risks on a project

Requirements

A Quantity Surveying or Estimating background with at least 8 years’ satisfactory experience

Experience in Pre-Construction is desirable

Have successfully completed and graduated from a third level degree course accredited in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or an equivalent relevant area of study

Possess an acceptable proficiency, both written and oral, in the English language

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and in at least one of the more widely used QS BQ production software packages – e.g. Buildsoft or CostX

Valid Safe pass card

Possession of a full Irish Driving Licence
